THE LUXO COOLSPOT LUMINAIRE

The Luxo CoolSpot is a high specification luminaire with a spotlight beam, adjustable in two different ways. It is designed for users who demand impressive standards in both versatility and value. Considerable flexibility in both light output and mounting systems ensures that the CoolSpot is ideal for a wide variety of examination, surgery and other procedures.

A TOTAL LIGHTING SYSTEM

CoolSpot may be perceived as a total lighting system. Individual luminaires may be used to great effect to provide high quality illumination for examination, treatment rooms, minor surgery, casualty departments and similar applications.

However, when ceiling mounted together with other CoolSpot or Outpatient luminaires, the CoolSpot can replace much more expensive systems, in more demanding environments, and still offer a variety of choices in positioning and intensity.

HIGH LIGHT OUTPUT

At a distance of two feet (0.61metre) from the light source, the light output level on the surface is 47500 Lux.

VARIABLE SPOT SIZE

CoolSpot offers a variable spot size between two and ten inches (5cm to 25cm), regulated by the use of an aperture wheel.

FOUR INTENSITY SETTINGS

A second aperture wheel provides four intensity settings, which allows the user to select the exact light output required.

NATURAL COLOUR RENDERING

The colour temperature rendering of 3200 degrees K provides intense "daylight" illumination, with true tissue colour.

COMFORT FOR THE PATIENT

A cool, yet intense, light beam is achieved through a double filtration system, whereby both the lens and the dichroic coating on the 150 Watt halogen lamp combine to filter heat out of the light beam.

COMFORT FOR THE MEDICAL STAFF

CoolSpot is manufactured in diecast aluminium, with an inner fan to maintain low temperatures on the surface of the luminaire.

LOW VOLTAGE SAFETY OPERATION

Low voltage safety operation minimizes electrical hazards during procedures.

LAMP LIFE

Average lamp life is 500 hours.

THE LUXO OUTPATIENT LUMINAIRE

The Outpatient luminaire is a floodlight beam luminaire designed for professionals who demand the ultimate in highly versatile performance and design. The light output intensity, the highly flexible counter-balanced positioning arm, and the low temperature "cool" beam make the Outpatient the automatic choice for many applications.

HIGH LIGHT OUTPUT

At a distance of two feet (0.61 metre) from the light source, the light output on the subject is 53000 Lux.

NATURAL COLOUR RENDERING

The colour temperature rendering of 3200 degrees K provides intense "daylight" illumination, with true tissue colour.

SHADOW-FREE OPERATION

Three low-voltage 50 Watt halogen lamps are strategically positioned in order virtually to eliminate shadows, when a person or object is placed between the light source and the patient.

EMPHASIS ON SAFETY

The Outpatient luminaire was designed and engineered with safety in mind. Continuous light is assured with the parallel wiring of the three lamps. If one lamp burns out the two remaining will still provide light. Additionally, the low-voltage operation minimizes electrical hazards during procedures.

LOW TEMPERATURE CHARACTERISTICS

The housing and light beam remain very cool, since the dichroic reflector filters out more infra-red rays than a standard reflector.

LAMP LIFE

Each lamp has an average life of 2000 hours.

COMMON FEATURES FOR BOTH COOLSPOT & OUTPATIENT LUMINAIRES

REMARKABLE POSITIONING STABILITY IN USE

The spring-balanced positioning arm is very stable in use and will not drift within the range of +/- 40 degrees. To reduce movement resulting from minor variations in mechanical properties and dimensions, a "friction cup" is incorporated into the spring assembly. Additionally, an external knob, controlled by the operator, can be used to lock the arm in any required position.

A WIDE VARIETY OF MOUNTING ALTERNATIVES

Available mountings include floor, wall, single ceiling and double ceiling. CoolSpot and Outpatient luminaires may be mounted together on the double ceiling mount.
Also single and double 'Fastrac' systems.

ELECTRICITY SUPPLY

Both luminaires and fixtures operate on 240 Volts, 50Hz supply.

SAFETY STANDARD COMPLIANCE

Both luminaires and fixtures are tested to BS 5724, SEMKO, NEMKO, DEMKO, and all major European Safety standards.
